Small village in Provence !
Montclar sur gervanne.jpg

Let yourself be charmed by the visit of a selection of perched village typical of Provence at the detour of the regional natural parks of the Provencal Baronnies and the Vercors.

Dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, medieval fortifications have established themselves on these heights, modest but sufficient to see and be seen.

For a long time historians have attributed these perched villages to the need to defend themselves against the Saracens...

But in fact, the local lords would have sought to gather the rural population in these perched villages to better collect their share of wealth and establish certain monopolies (mill, oven, ...)

You will soon be amazed by the typical architecture of these medieval villages, where the old stones allow us to go back to ancient times often forgotten.

These villages enjoy a beautiful stone box that is sometimes difficult to believe that we are in the 21st century because they transport us into history.
